Alan Yau brought posh Chinese culture to London. Reservations were made at both of his restaurants: Yauatcha, which serves yum-cha all day & Hakkasan, which received Michelin stars for its Chinese cuisine.
FYI: I tried to remember the name of each dish… but the dishes came out so fast that there are definitely question marks… so if I’m wrong, just help me out ;)
Since this is a modern version of yum-cha, all dishes were chosen by an a la carte menu instead of the traditional cook/serve cart service. All dishes managed to arrive at the table- we ordered multiples of everything for 7 people and my favorite had to be the bean curd roll. There’s a special pre-fixe menu during the week for 30.00 but we spent approx 30.00 per person, which included cocktails… so I guess you just have to guesstimate how much food you want to order to get the better deal… I think we did well ordering off the menu :)
Try it you’ll like it…

Hakkasan for Dinner
All five of us shared these dishes as well as bottle of white wine and individual cocktails for 60.00 per person. We polled our favorites of the night and our favorite was unanimous- duck with truffle sauce. Other favorites included the tofu and the prawns. There is a prix-fixe menu for groups but as mentioned before, I think we did better off ordering off the menu for the same price of the prix-fixe.
