DETOX: INTRO

After a handful of failed attempts to start swimming on a regular basis (in Italy), I’m getting back on track. To kick start this plan, I am going to do my very best to follow a 7-Day Detox to get me back into the swing of things.

Many people say that detoxes are good to complete every season, my sister thinks they’re ridiculous in general, and I’m on the fence. I’ve never done this before, and believe it or not, I’ve never dieted (…okay, this is totally believable).

I’ve just been reading a ton about raw diets, veggie blogs and juice detoxes, so I’m curious to see what the fuss is all about.

Will it really make me feel better inside and out?

Or will it just make me “bitchy”? Only time will tell…

Oh by the way, the program I downloaded on my iPhone is called Jason Vale’s 7 lbs in 7 Days. The program provides 10 drink recipes (that reappear throughout the week), about 6 drinks per day, at specific times.

Most people take on these detoxes to lose weight, but I’m not interested in the dieting aspect of this program (however I won’t be complaining should I lose any of these seven pounds).

I’m taking on this one week experiment to see whether or not my energy levels change. I’ve been feeling a bit lethargic and would like to see how these juice drinks can benefit me.

During the program I hope to feel motivated, more energetic and encouraged to get back into the water (I’m a swimmer). I really would like to follow this program precisely, but lets face it… I’m a food enthusiast in Italy, surrounded by some of the best dishes this planet has to offer and will not deprive myself should I feel the desire to indulge =)

Goal: Drink two of the six designated juices each day, engage in physical activity and blog about the good, the bad and the ugly of this program ;)
