Ricotta Gelato & Mascarpone w/ Honey and Walnut Gelato

There’s cheese… and then there’s CHEESE. And CHEESE is definitely at the top of my Best Festivals List. Every two years, Slow Food organizes the event to feature and promote artisanal cheese makers from across the world. The event is four days long. The town is filled with special tents, presentations, seminars, tasting classes and the cheese producers at their respective cheese stalls; it’s literally been a non-stop cheese tasting marathon… and it was oh-so-very-good.

I was fortunate enough to befriend a few Italian Slow Food interns during my visit and “interned” for the interns by interviewing people (in English) about the event. I met quite a few producers, vendors, artisans… and couldn’t believe how friendly and inviting they were (seriously, this is how you know someone loves their job).

Also met Anne, a cheese-maker for Neal’s Yard Dairy (England) and I’m following her blog, The Cheesemaking Years! Checkout her post about CHEESE 2011!
