Don’t quote me on this, but I’m pretty sure my last visit to Paris was a decade ago… and during that time, Notre Dame was undergoing construction.
Now I’m back and it’s even more beautiful than I remember! Cheesed it up like a proper tourist for the entire day (my definition of tourism means: making the effort to see at least two major monuments, as opposed to my normal stumble upon and wing it approach)… check to see where I’ve been!
Attempted to walk up Rue Saint-Dominique for lunch, however I spotted this bakery in the 7th area with lines out the door… needless to say, food curiosity got the best of me and I’m so glad it did… take a look at my lunch “sandwiches”
Millefoglie. Layered with thick vanilla/bourbon cream & topped with caramel icing. Can you say yum?? 3,00
Pistachio Macaron w/ Cream & Fresh Raspberries. Cream was light, fluffy and delicious. 3,60
Walked along the water and waved hello to all of the buildings on the same street as the Louvre. I’m sure someone has come up with this already but Paris was Lourve at First Sight… le sigh…
Stumbled upon the original Michel Chaudon Chocolate Shop and walked out with 5 of the best chocolates I’ve ever tasted. Click this link to see what they look like inside!
After walking all the way from Notre Dame to Avenue Champs de Elysee to the Grand Palace, I stopped in for a drink (3,50- btw, totally adding Orangina to my French vocabulary) at Cafe Constant before heading to the Eiffel Tower.
IMPROMPTU VIDEO: Gives you an idea of what to expect when you pay to go all the way to the top. First thought, Google Earth. Second thought, too many lines! Third thought, they make so much money… 13,00 round trip unless you’re under 24… you pay 11 euro (I miss student discounts, like whoa).
