Where I’ve Been, Who I Am, Where I’m Going:
I created Little Miss Local // curiosity meets craving on June 26, 2011 as my solution to a disappointing profession. I did what any other 25 year old would do in the midst of their quarter-life crisis – I voluntarily gave up my career and my benefits, for an opportunity to feel ALIVE. I traded it all (with a few hesitations for the unknown) just to wake up each day excited to learn and to taste.
As soon as I stepped out of my comfort zone, things start to fall into place. I started traveling the globe, hopped countries, and ran out of pages in my passport.
Some people referred to me as the “Eat Pray Love girl” (sans the praying, the nasty divorce and the advance book deal); but to me, I was just someone with a deep passion for food. A Food Nobody if you will.
I paid my way for every meal, transportation and accommodation; I read travel guides, learned the local rules from the natives, and always followed my gut instincts.
I ate. I wrote. I traveled. I viewed the world with a new pair of eyes. I saw good, even when there was bad. I felt empathy, a sense of calm, and an overwhelming amount of compassion for the world.
I changed. I grew. I developed into a better person.
This time last year I was in Monza packing my bags to embark on a trip around the globe; today, I’m in NYC and ready to take the food world by storm.
Please continue to follow and share LittleMissLocal.com as I post about my culinary experiences in NYC… and perhaps, beyond!
