SOULBANDS BY SOULCYCLE. Spinning with Summer Sanders.

If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter, you’ve heard about my obsession with SoulCycle. My friends and I take class all over the city, and always go to SoulCycle Tribeca for Emily Fawcett’s (@EmilySpinNinja) SOULBAND class!

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOULCYCLE VS. SOULBANDS: Normal SoulCycle classes involve a 45 minute indoor spin ride synced with a ridiculous playlist (genres vary by instructor preference/community influence) and includes a weight sequence (rider has a choice of 1lb-5lb weights). SoulBands is a 60 minute indoor spinning workout with a majority of the class focused on a theraband workout (bands are attached to the ceiling and held by carabiners) along with a short weight sequence.

SOULBANDS WITH EMILY: Emily Fawcett is a fierce instructor. Rocking a bandana, a braided side-pony and the latest in lululemon, Emily will take your ride to another level. Now that I am a seasoned rider, I love the way Em combines her theraband set flawlessly into the playlist, followed by a sparkle, wave, bodyroll and twerk sequence… and if you’re wondering what I just said and have given yourself the “advanced rider status”, do yourself a favor and sign up at noon for her bands class in Tribeca. You can thank me later.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK: Recently, I had the opportunity to workout with Summer Sanders (Olympian Swimmer and Childhood TV Host on Figure It Out) at a SoulBands Class with Kym Perfetto! Summer was hosting a Find Your Fitness Channel on MSN (and I’m kinda jealous she gets paid to sweat all over the city)!

CLEAN PLATE EATS:
After class my friends and I tried Mulberry & Vine. The space is super cute/clean and I like their concept (HuKitchen meets City Bakery). I ordered the chia seed pudding, but I felt like $4.95 for a small cup was way too pricey; instead I’m leaving you with a super simple Chia Pudding Recipe that 2 year olds can make!

CHIA SEED PUDDING INSTRUCTIONS: Put all of the ingredients into a container, shake and refrigerate it for 4 hours until thick and pudding like! ENJOY! #LMLeats

  • 1 Cup of Almond Milk
  • 1/4 Chia Seeds
  • 2 Tablespoons of Raw Honey
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
  • 1 Tall Soup Container (Glass or Plastic)

*Footage provided by MSN, thanks for the ride Summer!
