BOKA CHICAGO. Best Meal of 2013.


I know it’s premature to say that this is the Best Meal of 2013… but I am completely enamored with Boka Chicago.

It all started when I met Chef Giuseppe Tentori at the James Beard Foundation next to the Lavazza coffee machine. He asked me how to make an espresso and I smirked and said, “Aren’t you Italian? You should know better than me!”

From there we started speaking in Italian! I found out Giuseppe and his wife are from Milan (coincidence much?) and when we said goodbye he told me to visit him at the restaurant when I’m in Chicago.

8 Courses later and the rest was history.

I refuse to give any details about the meal because dining at Boka Chicago is an experience worth understanding.

I will say it was legendary, choose the 7 Course Tasting Menu and buon appetito.
