Before the opening of Sweetgreen Nomad, I was invited to their Private Preview. The salad bar features local NY produce, wild shrimp, fresh fruit, and unique frozen yogurt combinations.
ENVIRONMENT: When I walked in I felt like it was an indoor version of NYC’s Highline. They have bleachers that turn into a stage, a soundproof ceiling made up of recyclable material, and a natural vibe throughout the space.
SERVICE: There were a lot of friendly staff members on hand for the preview and I was happy to greet each and everyone one of them as I moved down the line to collect my salad (Chipotle style).
SALAD BAR PROTOCAL: Once you review the menu and decide on your salad, each sweetgreen staffer will ask you which elements you’d like to add to your salad to give you a personalized touch. There are ten special salads or a make your own salad option.
Personally I enjoyed the Misoba Salad, anything with bacon, the blueberry basil lemonade, and the strawberry goat cheesecake fro-yo.
OVERALL: I am welcoming SweetGreen with open arms. The Flatiron was in desperate need of a local, seasonal, sustainable, organic salad bar. They source their produce locally, support NY purveyors and live the fresh mentality. Looking forward to tasting the seasons as I pass through midtown on one of my many busy weekdays!
