Last night Autism Speaks hosted their 7th Annual Celebrity Chef Gala to raise money and awareness for children on the autism spectrum. Over 100 chefs volunteered their time and talent towards the cause and I was there on behalf of Koppert Cress USA.
MY ROLE: Koppert Cress donated heirloom microgreens and specialties to every participating chef and I was the one who coordinated the requests, controlled the delivery and distributed the orders to the chefs. Check out the photos on the Koppert Cress USA Facebook Page to see some of the celebrity chefs who received our products!
CHEF GALA SCHEDULE: The night was filled with presentations, bidding wars, entertainment, and GREAT FOOD.
- 5:30pm VIP Cocktail Hour
- 7:00pm Autism Speaks Presentations
- 8:00pm Live Bidding
- 8:30pm Dinner
- 10:30 After Party
THE PROGRAM: Every chef was assigned a table with 10-12 guests. Participating chefs included Tom Colicchio, Morimoto, Bryan Voltaggio, Wylie Dufresne, Kerry Heffernan, Neal Fraser, Jennifer Jasinski, Rocco DiSpirito, Graham Elliot, and SO many more! Each chef prepared a three course meal and a pastry chef finished with a dessert.
My favorite auction package sold for $30,000. Twice. It included dinner at seven restaurants featuring chefs Bryan Voltaggio, Tom Colicchio, Kerry Heffernan, Jonathan Waxman, Mike Isabella, Franklin Becker. Can you say, AMAZING?
As a former special needs teacher, it meant a lot to support this event. So proud to work with a company that is invested in a great charity. Check out the Autism Speaks video and donate to the cause!
