LA FINE DINING // two restaurants i loved in los angeles

Okay so we spoke about the Santa Monica Farmers Market (major love for that four block radius), now I’d like to chat about two fine dining restaurants in LA that I absolutely cannot stop thinking about. All of my pictures from these dinners can be found on instagram under #LMLinLA!

LOVE & SALT // My good friend Chef Ted Cizma of SpaceX took me out with his colleagues to Love & Salt by Michael Fiorello. Located in Manhattan Beach, Love & Salt is great for large or small groups, casual diners and people who enjoy really great Italian-Californian food.

“Love & Salt is an Italian-inspired restaurant with a California soul. Love & Salt is a vision, woven together from industry veterans and father & daughter team Guy & Sylvie Gabriele and Chef Michael Fiorelli. Love & Salt is your neighborhood haunt, your special occasion, your stop on the way home from work, your last call at the end of the night, your birthday celebration with friends and family, your first date, and your fiftieth anniversary.”

THE BELLWETHER // When your friend is the chef owner of a brand new restaurant in Studio City, you fly out for the opening (or get really lucky that it was scheduled the same week you planned on being there for a writers conference). Chef Ted Hopson just opened his very own restaurant and the food is phenomenal. He was the Sous Chef on Top Chef Masters and has trained under Chefs David LeFevre, Sang Yoon and many more. His food is market inspired which leaves room for a variety of cuisines- Italian, American, SE Asian, etc. – and if you didn’t know this before, a bellwether is one that leads or indicates trends. Cue Ted Hopson. Perfect for families, dates, small groups, and solo diners.

The Bellwether is the debut restaurant and bar from Executive Chef/Owner Ted Hopson and Beverage Director/Owner Ann-Marie Verdi. The market-inspired menu aims to capitalize on the abundance of California produce in order to showcase one-of-a-kind food and drink menus that feature family style shareable dishes, unique infusion based cocktails, and a hand selected list of beer and wine.
